Last week Robyn and I ventured down to Blue Earth County to cover Bri and Josh’s wedding. With great weather and a wonderful couple to work with, what a heavenly day it turn out to be. The close-knit families and friends that surround this couple was very touching to Robyn and I. We heard so many great stories during the day, some will be shared here. Read on . . .
- There is something special about visiting the home the bride grew up in.
- A friend made Bri's dress out of drapery fabric. Bri said she felt like she was in the Sound of Music trapsing around in curtains.
- A sweet "First Look". Josh patiently waits to turn around to see his bride.
- Bri and Josh cruised around in a convertible Mustang all day. A friend of Bri's loaned her the car.
- Bri gave Josh this pocket watch as a wedding gift.
- Time for some portraits in the backyard.
- This gets my pick for a favorite. I loved the texture on the fence. Compliments of many paintball games by Bri's brother.
- Josh whittle's with a vintage pocket knife gifted from his parents. We asked Bri to spin in her dress.
- I had to shoot a close up of Briana's beautiful eyes.
- We had to incorporate the rich farmland of Blue Earth County into a photo.
- During family formals a tug-a-war broke out between Josh and Bri's brother. Bri's brother walked her down the aisle wearing her late father's cuffs.
- After family formals we ventured over to a barn with some great textures to work with.
- Bri's aunt and uncle sing "Household of Faith", which was sung at her parent's wedding.
- Eli, the ring bearer, did an awesome job. He militantly walked straight down the aisle. Everyone was all smiles. Eli's isn't even 3 years old yet.
- Josh's nephews are Max and Avery. Avery let out a loud papa bear yawn during the ceremony.
- Josh's sister Jennifer read the Irish Wedding Blessing. Jennifer is quite the artist, she did a charcoal drawing of an engagement photo with the blessing printed in it.
- Jessical Miller, Josh's other sister, sing's Heavenly Day by Patti Griffen. She did a fantastic job.
- The newlyweds just walked the aisle. I backed off so they could share a brief private moment.
- I have several great shots of them kissing in the get-a-way car, but it's the interaction with their hands that is special to me.
- Wedding Toast Joy!
- Josh's older brother introduced Bri and Josh to each other. Here he said, "Josh has a kind heart, even though he stuffs little animals". (Josh is a taxidermist.)
- Thank you so much Briana and Josh, we had such a great time at your wedding. It was truly: "A Heavenly Day".
